Summary:

Key Person of Influence by Daniel Priestley is essential reading if you’re looking to focus and upgrade your personal brand. Priestley teaches you how to become an influencer within your target market and/or area of expertise, and as it says on the cover, it’s ‘the 5-step method to become one of the most highly valued and highly paid people in your industry.’

Content Overview:

Key Person of Influence is a great example of a book that drives a whole industry behind it. Priestley clearly outlines his core methodology – the 5-step process is Pitch, Publish, Productise, Profile and Partnership (in that exact order). This in itself is immensely valuable and important, however, the book’s key aim is clearly to draw people into the full 40-week KPI programme.

The design and layout aid the readability and it’s clearly been well thought out. It leaves the reader with applicable steps and examples of what ‘good looks like’ in each chapter. Some sections such as ‘productising’ could have had more depth, but this is helped by a plethora of online resources, which will take readers beyond the book in order to develop an online relationship with the author’s brand. Priestley regularly seeds that the book has a ‘hidden theme’, which he keeps referring back to. This probably is used as a device to encourage the readers to pay closer attention to what they are reading and to identify the niche in which they can become the key person of influence in.

There were many moments within the book that justified reading it, one of my favourites was the statement that Key Persons of Influence look for partnerships and not for clients. A real game changer. In truth, I can’t see how any entrepreneur would not get value from reading this book and gain some useful hints and tips to improve their personal brand and develop their business.
