How to choose a Blog Topic
One of the subjects I’m often asked is how do I choose what to blog about. There are so many potential topics in marketing and business that I can often paralyse myself with indecision or the thought that this has already been covered and better by someone else!
In my search for inspiration, I came across this amazing infographic that identified ‘The Ultimate List of Blog Post Ideas’ and it’s probably the best and most comprehensive list I’ve ever seen. Hope you get as much out of it as I have:

I especially like the key tips, which I’ve outlined below:
Be Useful – establish your business as the authority in your sector and provide value to your audiences.
Be Human – people buy from people, showing your human side can improve your connection with customers and prospects.
Be Generous – showcase others, growth comes from promoting and endorsing other people – who will in return promote you.
Be Promotional – tell others what you do, include case studies, practical examples of the benefits of what you offer and where appropriate testimonials.
Be Controversial – you can get a lot of attention if your opinion is against the established status quo – however, make sure this is not a random rant but is conducive to your brand personality.
Be Entertaining – if you’re naturally funny or humorous bring that into your blog posts – you don’t have to be serious all the time.
Be Timely – think about what’s going on in your industry / sector, is there anything that’s currently a hot topic?
Be Engaging – consider how you can get a response, start a conversation and generate feedback – think about asking questions, answering a post or issuing a challenge.
To summarise:
Sometimes you don’t need to re-invent the wheel, a Google search can provide all the inspiration you need. Everyone has a message to share, so don’t let ‘what ifs’ stop you from posting. Keep blogging and get yourself noticed!
